Optris Xi 1M

sku Product SKU:  OPT-XI1M

The Optris Xi 1M is a short-wavelength infrared camera that offers innovation, affordability, and precision in non-contact thermal imaging of challenging objects. Designed to operate within the short-wavelength infrared range (1M: 0.85 – 1.1 μm), this forward-looking infrared camera is engineered to capture measurement data for precise surface temperature analysis of hot steel, iron, brass, copper, tin, carbon, ceramics, and semiconductors. Addressing the rigorous demands of various industries, the Optris Xi 1M offers wide elevated temperature measurement ranges, exceptional accuracy, and customizable field-of-view configurations.

Many measurement objects made of non-shiny material show high and relatively constant emissivity independent of their surface consistency, at least in long-wave spectral ranges. Nevertheless, many metallic and shiny materials have low emissivity at long infrared wavelengths. The low emissivity of those materials in the long wavelength infrared bandwidth results in varying and unreliable measuring results.

The spectral range of a short wavelength Xi 1M infrared camera matches most metallic material’s highest emissivity, which eases remote temperature measurement. In addition, due to Planck’s radiation law, exponentially more infrared radiation is emitted in the short wavelength range, so linear emissivity issues have less influence on the repeatability of temperature measurement results at short-wavelength. Therefore, contactless temperature measurement of shiny materials at high temperatures should always be as short-wave as possible, considering the higher temperature measuring range. In addition, these infrared cameras boast the capability to autonomously seek thermal hot spots, enhancing their utility and efficiency in various monitoring and inspection tasks. The Xi 1M infrared camera is specially designed and manufactured in Germany for these challenging industrial applications and outperforms long-wavelength infrared cameras in precision, accuracy, and repeatability.

The Xi 1M infrared camera features a mid-resolution thermal imaging capability (396 x 300 pixels), enabling it to excel in capturing temperature data across an extensive range from 450°C to 1800°C without sub-ranges. Its remarkable distance-to-spot-size ratio ensures accurate temperature measurements, even when capturing images from considerable distances. This superior ratio surpasses the optical performance of modern pyrometers, facilitating detailed monitoring of targets at significant distances. Furthermore, the motorized focus functionality allows users to precisely adjust focus remotely on their surface temperature measurement targets.
The industrial-grade and robust design of the Optris Xi 1M ensures reliability in demanding industrial environments, making it an indispensable tool for process engineers seeking accurate infrared temperature measurements in manufacturing processes. Its compact yet durable and waterproof design renders it ideal for fixed installations or mounted setups, guaranteeing durability in diverse industrial manufacturing environments.

Featuring Ethernet as its primary interface, the Optris Xi1M facilitates seamless connection to computers with a frame rate of 20 Hz for the full-size image. The USB interface, also at a frame rate of 20 Hz, is a secondary option for a sub-image of 132 x 100 pixels. Its smart autonomous operation eliminates the need for extensive software coding, enabling integration into control loops effortlessly. Moreover, the infrared camera boasts features such as automatic spot finding, direct analogue output (0/4-20mA), and compatibility with industrial fieldbus systems such as Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP/IP, RS485, or Profinet, making it the ultimate solution for original equipment manufacturer (OEM) use. The Xi410’s autonomous operation mode at 20 Hz for a sub-image of 132 x 100 pixels further simplifies integration into machinery.

In addition, the Optris Xi1M offers access to more complex software functionalities, such as line scanning or image merging, through the PIX Connect software license. PIX Connect is indispensable for researchers seeking an affordable IR camera with a powerful software platform for thermal image processing and temperature data collection. Developer kits are also available for integrators developing application-specific software solutions.

These innovative features enhance the infrared cameras' ability to provide accurate and reliable surface temperature measurements across various applications, ranging from quality control in manufacturing processes to condition monitoring and research and development activities. The Xi 1 M’s flexibility ensures seamless integration into various industrial setups, enhancing the camera's adaptability to specific requirements. With its advanced features, the Optris Xi 1M sets a new standard for fixed-install infrared imaging, offering a cost-effective and powerful solution for diverse industrial applications.

Moreover, the infrared camera Xi 1M is compatible with an extensive range of accessories tailored for harsh environmental conditions. These accessories include a water-cooled housing, extending the operating temperature range to 250 °C. Air purges uphold a pristine lens, guaranteeing uninterrupted temperature measurement even in dusty environments. The portfolio of compatible accessories is complemented by mechanical mounting options, electrical interfaces, and connection cables, all available at an appealing price.

IMG-DPM6004MF

DPM6004x weighing controller

sku Product SKU:  DPM6004x

The DPM6004MF use the latest ARM microprocessor technology to offer a powerful, compact, field-mount unit that you can select for a variety of weighing functions at a cost-effective price. The main advantage to the user, servicing organisation or marketing company is having one electronic unit that can be used for almost any application in the weighing industry.

A loadcell transmitter is used to convert loadcell outputs into a standard instrumentation analogue signal such as 4-20mA or 0-10volts, it will also supply power to excite one or more load cells. The 6004MF has many additional features such as displays for mass and programming, digital communications for direct connection to control computers and alarms. Our weighing electronics has always incorporated a recalibrate, zero trim and span trim feature. This is a simple way to set up a strain-gauge load cell system. All the variables, such as sensitivity and range, are inserted in the precalibrated section so that the system is reasonably accurate before adding test weights. The weighing system is then zero trimmed (back balanced) to offset the dead weight of weigh bin, weigh frame or weighbridge deck. With known test weights the system can be span trimmed to get higher accuracy. In some instances, such as very large weigh tanks where it is not possible to use test weights, pre-calibration using factory test certificates for loadcell sensitivity results in acceptable overall system accuracy.

The ARM processor used incorporates a USB port and a real-time clock with day/date. We have made full use of these facilities and added an optional, factory fitted, global positioning system (GPS) to cater for such applications as on-board truck weighing, positioning and data logging. In refuse removal, some countries are introducing legislation for customers to pay by weight for this service. Farmers are starting to monitor crop production and fertiliser distribution by location to improve farming efficiency. Logging contractors need to load for maximum profit without incurring overweight fines.

The unit is available as the DPM6004MF Multi-function unit -, a DPM6004LC - a load cell field mount transmitter and the DPM6004BW - a dedicated Belt weigher field mount transmitter.

Keller Series PD-39X

sku Product SKU:  KEL-39Xs

The Series PD-39 X does not measure the differential pressure directly – instead, it uses two absolute pressure sensors to take the measurement indirectly. As well as reducing costs, this differential pressure transmitter is also more robust in relation to unbalanced (one-sided) overloading. The differential pressure range should be at least 5% of the standard pressure range. Each pressure side has two pressure connections, so the

Pressure measurements can be displayed and recorded on PC or Laptop with help of the software ControlCenterSeries30 (CCS30) and a seriel interface cable. Export of recordings to usual file formats possible. Up to 128 devices can be connected together into a KELLER Bus-system.

The Series PD-39 X does not measure the differential pressure directly - instead, it uses two absolute pressure sensors to take the measurement indirectly. As well as reducing costs, this differential pressure transmitter is also more robust in relation to unbalanced (one-sided) overloading. The differential pressure range should be at least 5% of the standard pressure range. Each pressure side has two pressure connections, so the PD-39 X is easy to use in pressure lines

So that the differential pressure can also be measured exactly if the standard pressure range/ differential pressure ratio is high, this series also features the tried-and-tested microprocessorbased technology that is used in Series 30 X. All reproducible pressure sensor errors (i.e. nonlinearities and temperature dependencies) are entirely eliminated thanks to mathematical error compensation. The sensor signals are measured with a 16-bit A/D converter, so the individual standard pressure ranges can be measured to an accuracy of 0,05%FS throughout the entire pressure and temperature range.

Digital Interface

The transmitters have a bus-compatible two-wire RS485 half-duplex interface which is modelled on the ”MODBUS RTU”. KELLER offers interface converters to RS232 or USB for use here. The READ30/PROG30 program and the protocol are freely available. The interface offers these capabilities:

- Readout of pressure and temperature values for both sensors. This allows readout of the diffe- rential pressure as well as the two standard pressure ranges.

- Calibration of zero points and amplification.

- Scaling of the analog output to different pressure ranges or units.

- Configuration settings such as measurement rate, low-pass (LP) filter, bus address, etc.

- Readout of information such as serial number, compensated pressure and temperature ranges, etc.

Analog Output

The analog output is freely scalable via the interface. For flow measurements, the root of the differential pressure can also be outputted. The calculated value can be outputted via an analog interface (0…10 V or 4…20 mA).
