Optris Xi 400 LT USB

Sku: OPT-Xi-400LTF

Fixed long-wavelength infrared camera for accurate non-contact temperature measurement from –20°C to 1500°C. USB thermal imaging for industry.

Product Information

The Optris Xi 400 LT USB is a fixed-mount, long-wavelength infrared thermal camera designed for accurate, cost-effective and repeatable non-contact temperature measurement in demanding industrial applications. Ideal for stationary monitoring, inspection and process control, the camera enables operators to obtain detailed thermal profiles for advanced condition monitoring and research tasks.

Operating in the long-wave infrared spectrum (8–14 µm), the Xi 400 LT USB delivers mid-resolution thermal imaging at 382 × 288 pixels and measures temperatures across a wide range from –20°C to 1500°C. Its high distance-to-spot-size ratio of up to 390:1 allows precise temperature measurement of small targets at considerable distances, while the motorised focus enables accurate remote adjustment for surface temperature targeting.

Optris imaging systems utilise uncooled two-dimensional bolometer detectors rather than scanning mirrors. This design significantly improves robustness, reliability and cost efficiency when compared to traditional line scanner systems. Optimised for fixed industrial installations, all Optris infrared cameras are designed, developed and manufactured in Germany, ensuring consistent performance in harsh industrial environments.

The Xi 400 LT USB features a compact, durable and waterproof housing, making it suitable for fixed or mounted installations in challenging manufacturing conditions. Its industrial-grade construction supports long-term operational reliability for process engineers who require stable and precise infrared temperature measurements.

Connectivity is provided via a USB interface, supporting a high frame rate of up to 80 Hz, which is ideal for monitoring fast thermal processes. The integrated line-scan function enables accurate thermal imaging of moving objects that may only briefly appear within the field of view. In addition, the camera is equipped with analogue and digital outputs, as well as a process interface, allowing straightforward integration into industrial machinery and control systems.

When used with the free PIX Connect software, the Xi 400 LT USB offers advanced image processing and analysis capabilities, including hotspot detection, image merging, radiometric video recording and line scanning. PIX Connect also supports comprehensive thermal data analysis and export, making the camera well suited for research and development applications. Software development kits (SDKs) are available for system integrators developing custom or application-specific solutions.

The Xi 400 LT USB is compatible with a wide range of accessories for demanding environments, including water-cooled housings that extend the operating temperature up to 250°C, air purge systems to maintain lens cleanliness in dusty conditions, and various mechanical mounting options, electrical interfaces and connection cables.

With its combination of high performance, durability and affordability, the Optris Xi 400 LT USB is a versatile and reliable solution for industrial fixed-install thermal imaging, process monitoring and machine integration.
