Linear Measurement

Instrotech have distributed products for Siko and NAIS (Matsushito) in Germany and MCB in France for many years. These products are designed for mechanical and electronic linear measurement. The most simple form of linear measurement is by using the MCB linear potentiometers available in light or heavy duty aluminium housing in ranges from 25 to 1000mm. Then the Siko draw-wire linear transmitters are available in light and heavy duty with range lengths form 1 to 10mtrs. Mechanical counter displays or a variety of electrical outputs are available. These vary from potentiometer to quadrature encoder to display any of these outputs. Siko also manufacture a Magline magnetic strip linear position measuring system consisting of an encoded magnetic tape sandwiched between thin stainless steel strips which is glued to the machine frame. A pickup head, which can have an integral indictor, is attached to the moving section to digitally display or output a linear measurement with high resolution in quadrature or absolute measurement. Applications for linear measurement are in the machine tool, woodworking and storage fields.
