The KOBOLD plastic flowmeters model VKP operate on a special suspended float principle with cylindrical measuring tube and spring-loaded float with orifice. The float in model VKP-3... has slots moulded on the outside, which protect the instrument from soiling by depositing dirt particles. The danger of the float jamming is thus considerably reduced and soiled liquids with a particle size up to 400 μm can be measured without difficulty. In model VKP-2... a sharp-edged orifice in the float renders the instrument less sensitive to changes in viscosity.
The pressure transmitters of the 7LD series use the chip-in-oil technology developed by KELLER, uniting a pressure measuring cell, digital temperature compensation and signal processing in a compact housing made of stainless steel or Hastelloy. The transmitters are extremely resistant to environmental influences and delivery highly accurate measurement results as a digital output signal. The I2C interface and the low supply voltages make it easy to integrate in microcontroller-based systems. The extremely low power consumption is ideal for battery-operated devices. The D line is perfect for IoT solutions.

The pyrometer optris CTfast LT is perfectly suited for especially quick measurements ,due to its extremely short response time of 6 ms. The unchoppered sensor allows a continuous temperature surveillance of fast processes in a spectrum of -50°C up to 975°C.
The Series PRD-33 X was developed for applications that require a high accuracy differential pressure measurement together with high overload resistance in differential pressure ranges as low as 350 mbar.
The Series PRD-33 X is the result of ongoing development of the KELLER PD-33 X differential pressure transmitter. Thanks to a second integrated pressure sensor, the line, or common mode, pressure can now be measured along with the differential pressure, resulting in several notable features not found in traditional differential pressure transmitters.
For example, compensation for line pressure effect is now accomplished during factory calibration. Moreover, both differential and line (absolute) pressure may be read by the user. In addition, the PRD-33 X features high differential overload resistance; e.g., ± 35 bar with a differential measuring range of only 350 mbar (100:1).
The internal differential pressure sensor element is isolated from the High (+) side media by a compliant stainless steel diaphragm, while the Low (-) side media impinges directly on the back side of the silicon measuring cell. Also isolated from the High (+) side media is the line (absolute) pressure sensor. The floating sensor assembly guarantees maximum decoupling from external mechanical forces.
Another notable feature of the Series PRD-33 X is the robust digital RS485 bi-directional communication interface. Information such as serial number, pressure range, filter settings and process values for both differential and line (absolute) pressures and their temperatures are easily obtained.
This combination of features enables certain measurements not possible with traditional differential pressure transmitters. For example, filling levels in liquefied gas storage tanks, including oxygen, nitrogen, carbon dioxide and argon can now be measured safely, accurately and at reasonable cost.

Knowing the exact value of the radiation temperature is essential for the calibration process. It can be measured by either using a contact thermometer (in combination with the determination of the emissivity) or a transfer standard infrared thermometer. This value can then be used to determine the device constant for an initial calibration of the infrared sensors. In order to conduct a post-calibration by customers or local calibration facilities, the calibration temperature should be near the temperatures which occur at the respective applications.
Optris makes use of a transfer standard radiation thermometer CTlaser-PTB (see figure) to measure the radiation temperature of a reference source. The CTlaser- PTB is based on the IR thermometer optris CTlaser. The CTlaser-PTB needs to be traceable to the international temperature scale from 1990 (ITS-90). Thus, it is calibrated by the PTB (German national metrology institute) on a regular basis. ITS-90 is a very good approximation of thermodynamic temperature. It is based on 17 well-reproducible fixed values such as melting points of highly pure metals. Within the framework of ITS-90 the CTlaser-PTB is compared to national temperature standards from the PTB. This comparison within a closed chain of comparative measurements with a known uncertainty in measurement takes place on a regular basis.
Based on the CTlaser-PTB, Optris produces the CTlaser- DCI as a high-precision reference IR thermometer for its customers. The DCI units are produced with pre-selected components supporting high stability of measurement. In combination with a dedicated calibration at several calibration points the CTlaser-DCI achieves a higher accuracy than units from series production.
The optics of an IR thermometer is described by the distance-to-spot-ratio (D:S). Depending on the quality of the optics a certain amount of radiation is also received from sources outside the specified measurement spot. The maximum value here equals the radiation emitted by a hemispheric radiant source. The respective signal change in correlation with a resize of the radiation source is described by the Size-of-source effect (SSE).
As a result of this correlation all manufacturers of IR thermometers use accurately defined geometries for the calibration of their units; meaning depending on the aperture of the radiation source (A) a distance (a) between the IR thermometer and the reference source is defined. Thus, the value specified in datasheets and technical documentation as a measurement field is, in general, a certain defined percentage of this radiation maximum – values of 90 % or 95 % are common.

Proven primary pressure standardDeadweight Tester / Pressure Balances are the most accurate instrument available on the market for the calibration of electronic or mechanical pressure measuring instruments. The direct measurement of the pressure (p = F / A), as well as the use of high-quality materials enable a very small measurement uncertainty, in conjunction with an excellent long-term stability of 5 years (recommended in accordance with German Calibration Service DKD/DAkkS).The deadweight tester / pressure balance has therefore been used for years in factory and calibration laboratories in national institutes, research laboratories and in industry.Stand-alone operationDue to its integrated pressure generation and the pure mechanical measuring principle, the model LR-Cal LDW-H is ideal for on-site use for maintenance and service.Basic principlePressure is defined as the quotient of force and area. The core component of the model LR-Cal LDW-H is therefore a very pecisely manufatured piston-cylinder-system, which is loaded with masses in order to generate the individual test points. The masses applied are proportional to the target pressure and this is achieved through optimally graduated weights. As standard, these masses are manufactured to the standard gravity (9.80665 m/s²), though the can be manufactured to a specific location (gravity) and also DAkkS-calibrated.Easy operationIn the stable instrument base, the integrated priming pump and the 250 ml tank enable large test volumes to be easily filled and pressurised. For further pressure increases and find adjustment, a very precisely-controllable spindle pump is fitted, which only runs within the pump body.As soon as the measuring system reaches equilibrium, there is a balance of forces between the pressure and the mass load applied. The excellent quality of the system ensures that this pressure remains stable over several minutes, so that the pressure value for comparative measurements can be read without any problems, or also so that more complex adjustments can be carried out on the item under test
