In this video, Maik, from Optris, demonstrates the capabilities of our new high-speed pyrometer, Optris CT 4ML.
The CT 4ML has been especially designed for measuring temperatures of fast-moving objects. The ultra-fast exposure time of just 90 µs makes it the ideal pyrometer for fast high-volume production and packaging processes (eg. PET preform temperature monitoring) and high-speed traffic safety applications, like hot axle box detection on railways.

The Grensmaas project gives more space to the Maas to limit tidal waves, and thus floods, after severe rainfall. The Grensmaas is the unnavigable part of the Meuse, about 47 kilometres long and since 1839 the border between Belgium and the Netherlands. In summer, the river is sometimes fordable, but during heavy rainfall it can swell to an enormous mass of water that caused floods in the past. A capricious rain river.
The transportation and production of the byproduct from the excavation, a mixture of the sand and gravel, is hugely dependent on the water level in the Meuse. As the water level fluctuates greatly, which affects the operation of the locks, accurate water level and temperature monitor was required. Mounting a Keller 26X level sensor onto a mooring post with it's ability to communicate all this information to the operations offices with the cloud via a LoRa network.
The KELLER ADT1 LoRa telemetry modem and Series 26X digital level sensor ensure the continuity of this project.

Optris CTratio: The Optris CTratio allows for reliable temperature measurements from 250 °C to 3000 °C. In metallurgy, high dust emission, vapours and similar problematic elements which negatively affect contactless temperature measurement often cannot be avoided. In order to ensure a reliable temperature measurement of melts or metallic surfaces even under these adverse conditions, Optris has developed the new ratio pyrometer Optris CTratio.Compared to single-channel pyrometers, ratio pyrometers provide consistent measurement results even with a dirty lens or for objects that move within the measurement area (e.g. metal rods or wires).
