The coronavirus and other diseases are highly infectious and transferred by sick people or contaminated objects. Globally, aircraft are one way that this virus is quickly exported worldwide. China, the epicenter of the 2019/20 coronavirus outbreak, has more than 200 airports, making it an international challenge to detect and prevent sick people flying and reaching and transmitting the virus to unaffected areas and countries.

Instrotech, is promoting Monitran General Purpose Monitoring Sensors, for use with PLC’s and other industrial controllers. Monitran 1185C provides the users with a continuous output of vibration usually as a 4-20mA signal. Changes in the monitor signal will allow the user to spot vibration changes in the part of the machine to which the sensor is attached. Rapid changes accompany such conditions as machinery working loose from its mountings, fan blade malfunction, bearing failure all of which require immediate attention and machine shutdown to avoid widespread damage and loss of machine time. If the signal is logged at regular intervals, gradually increasing vibration indicates wear in the part of the machine where the sensor is fitted calling for replacement or detailed study with a portable vibration analyser.

Bitumen measurement under difficult conditions
A product application case history
The Task: The special challenge of this application was to determine the exact temperature of heat-tracing, and to be adapted to the respective type of bitumen product used. The meters had to be robust and temperature-stable, and their accuracy should be unaffected by portable custody transfer devices.

Instrotech has the Senix ToughSonic CHEM range of ultrasonic sensors, in service around the world in some of the most demanding and corrosive industrial environments. They measure a wide variety of materials including diesel fuel levels in rail locomotives and levels of liquid chemicals in the paper and food processing industries. Senix ToughSonic CHEM sensors are also used in object detection and other non-liquid level applications where corrosive gasses are present.

Instrotech offers the latest in Optris infrared innovation, the Xi series, a fusion between a robust, compact pyrometer and an advanced IR camera. The integrated spot finder function enables accurate temperature measurements in moving objects without having to readjust the sensor. Sensor adjustment takes place autonomously, that is, without having to establish a connection with a PC. In addition to a direct 0/4-20 mA analog output, the devices also offer users digital interfaces such as Ethernet or RS-485. An external processing interface permits the further processing of up to nine (9) freely definable analog outputs, making it ideal for OEM applications.
