An international state-owned oil and gas company (covering all aspects of the stream from exploration to production, refinery, depots, pump stations, and ultimately the retail outlet) recently went to the market for offers to revamp and refit a field instrumentation and control project. The business unit involved is their exploration company, producing geothermal energy, which they sell on to another company, in turn to be converted into electric power. 
The refit included the replacement of not only the defective/faulty field instruments but also the main control system. Most of the instruments installed at the site were dP flow meter types, both senior orifice and pitot tube. And vitally, almost all of these were defective and needed to be replaced for the site to operate safely and normally. With the launch of the long-awaited PAD dP transmitter, and in-depth discussions with the oil company, the new Kobold differential pressure transmitter (PAD) was specified.  By showing the client a complete picture and competitive overall pricing model, Kobold managed to seal the deal.  Kobold’s vast experience in the field of biogas flow/pressure/temperature measurement ensured that they signed the order against stiff and diverse competition.This was due largely to unique operating principles, and a myriad commercial application references. The comparison between oscillation flow and thermal mass flow measuring principle, in particular gave Kobold a clear advantage.
